The economic environment continues to impact consumers’ financial stability, resulting in changes to spending and saving habits. Nearly four in 10 regional residents (38%) are spending more money now compared to last year, while only 21% in the region are saving more, a WSFS Bank Money Trends study found.
The Sword Will be Unveiled on Commodore Barry Day, Sept. 13th
The Revolutionary War sword of Commodore John Barry, considered a “Father of the U.S. Navy,” will return to Philadelphia for the first time since 1939 and will be on view at the Museum of the American Revolution beginning Sept. 13, 2023, which is celebrated as Commodore Barry Day. The sword, which is on loan from the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston, was displayed in the Oval Office during John F. Kennedy’s presidency.
Aramark reveals name of Uniform Services spinoff business

Philadelphia-based Aramark has revealed the name of the spinoff company for its multibillion-dollar Uniform Services business as the transaction nears completion.
Vestis, which currently operates as Aramark Uniform Services, is expected to fully separate from Aramark (NYSE: ARMK) at the end of the food service company’s fiscal year 2023 in October. The spinoff, announced in May 2022, will make Vestis its own publicly traded company.
