Our next Executive Perspective Speaker Series will feature a panel discussion with Ambassador Club Members, Aer Lingus’ CEO, Stephen Kavanagh, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Donal MoriartyHarold Epps, Director of Commerce for the City of Philadelphia, and James Tyrrell, Chief Revenue Officer for the City of Philadelphia Division of Aviation.

   

Meet Our Panel

Stephen Kavanagh was appointed Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Aer Lingus on 1stMarch 2015. Mr Kavanagh joined Aer Lingus and undertook a variety of roles in operational and commercial departments culminating in his appointment as a member of the executive in 2006. As Chief Commercial Officer, Stephen led the re-positioning of the airline’s network strategy, which transformed Aer Lingus’s transatlantic business, significantly expanded the network reach and underpinned the growth in profitability that Aer Lingus has enjoyed over the last six years.

Stephen’s leadership of Aer Lingus within IAG continues to focus on bringing consistent and affordable product to market that is driven by the voice of its guests.

Stephen is a graduate of University College Dublin. He was awarded a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1990 and subsequently completed a post graduate degree in Business Studies receiving a Master of Business Studies degree in 1991.

Donal Moriarty was appointed as Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Aer Lingus in November 2017 with responsibility for Government and Corporate Affairs, Corporate Programmes, Communications and Group Affairs. Donal previously worked with Aer Lingus over an 8 year period through to 2016, most recently as Executive Counsel, with responsibility for the Legal, Aero-political/ Regulatory Affairs and Public Relations.

The support and alignment of key stakeholders in Ireland and North America is critical as Aer Lingus progresses its value carrier strategy and Donal represents Aer Lingus in engagement with key industry and business organisations in our target markets.

Donal is a lawyer and a graduate of University College Dublin.

Harold T. Epps is the Director of Commerce at the City of Philadelphia and is a business leader with over 30 years of corporate experience in providing high performance products and solutions for complex and compliance driven industries. As Director of Commerce, Harold oversees and implements policies to help both small businesses and major corporations in Philadelphia thrive. Commerce coordinates activities along neighborhood commercial corridors with small businesses and entrepreneurs, major real estate development projects, large-scale business attraction and retention efforts, as well as efforts to increase minority-owned business contracting opportunities.

Formerly, Harold was the Vice-Chairman of the Board of PRWT Services and served as PRWT’s President and CEO from 2007 – 2014. PRWT Services is one of America’s largest minority-owned firms and a provider of high-performance business solutions, facilities management and infrastructure support services. Prior executive roles include Quadrant, Menasha Corporation and Polaroid, where Harold led middle-market subsidiaries and divisions. Throughout his career, Harold built a solid reputation for positioning organizations for sustained growth, successfully managing change and restructuring, improving efficiency, spurring innovation and maintaining a focus and discipline of continuous process and performance improvement.

Epps’ personal commitment to workforce development and business opportunity diversity and inclusion efforts continue to drive his civic and board activities. Harold is Co-Chairman of the Comcast National African-American Advisory Council, and a member of Philadelphia International Airport Advisory Board, Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC), Select Greater Philadelphia, Global Philadelphia Association and PHLCVB boards. Formerly, Harold served as the Chairman of the African-American Museum of Philadelphia, an executive committee member of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and The Urban League of Philadelphia, as well as a Trustee of North Carolina Central University.

James Tyrrell is Chief Revenue Officer at Philadelphia International Airport. He is responsible for business and real estate related functions including the development, purchase, sale, use and lease of all Airport properties and facilities. He also oversees air service development, food, beverage and retail concessions, rental cars and other business development activities, including wireless Internet access, Airport advertising contracts and all airline agreements. Other responsibilities include commercial management and business development at Northeast Philadelphia Airport.

Previously Mr. Tyrrell served as the Deputy Director of Aviation, Property Management/Business Development, a position he was appointed to in 2001. He joined the Division of Aviation in 1987 and served as the Airport’s Property Manager from 1993-2001.

Mr. Tyrrell is a lifelong resident of Philadelphia and obtained his B.S. in marketing and management from Saint Joseph’s University in 1982. He serves on Airports Council International-North America’s (ACI-NA) Air Cargo Committee and previously served on ACINA Commercial Management and Business Diversity committees. Currently, he is the 2016 Airport Revenue News Airport Property Manager of the Year.
