Join us for the next installment of our virtual Member Spotlight series featuring new Irish Chamber member, Alan Gibson, Chief Commercial Officer at Belfast-based Devenish and board member of a non-profit called Sport Changes Life (also based in Belfast). Now living in the Philadelphia area, Alan’s professional career and non-profit service is a shining example of how our members live the mission of the Irish Chamber.
Devenish is a science-based solutions provider to the food and feed industries. Headquartered in Belfast, the company supplies high quality nutritional products for the poultry, pig, ruminant, equine, companion and aquaculture industries. Established in 1952, the company has gone from trading-based company with £5 million annual turnover and 23 employees in 1997, to an international company with over 700 employees and £226 million turnover.
Supplementing its 10 manufacturing facilities across the UK, US, Turkey and Uganda Devenish has invested in a range of Performance Houses, where trials are conducted to scientifically publishable standards. Devenish believes in a science-based approach to developing sustainable solutions for the feed and food industries. Through their “One Health: From Soil to Society” strategy, they are looking at how they can influence human health through the provision of high quality, nutritious feed solutions.
With offices in America and Belfast, Northern Ireland, Sport Changes Life is a registered UK charity and US nonprofit organization. Their Victory Scholar Program enables American student-athletes to continue their education at the post-graduate level and continue to play the sport they love in prestigious partner universities across the Island of Ireland. In turn, the Victory Scholars work in disadvantaged communities to help raise the aspirations of the young people on the Island of Ireland. Sport Changes Life CEO, Gareth Maguire, will tune in from Belfast to join our conversation.
