Imvax to sponsor & participate in Taking on Cancer: How the Philadelphia region is leading the fight against the deadly disease

The Greater Philadelphia has thousands of people — doctors, scientists, business executives and more — who go to work every day with a mission to make life better for those touched by cancer. The Philadelphia Business Journal has assembled nine of them to discuss the region’s cancer ecosystem.

Panel 1: The Researchers

Philadelphia is home to four National Cancer Institute-designated cancer, while Cooper Hospital in Camden has a partnership with a fifth. The physician leaders of the centers will discuss the cutting-edge approaches underway to treat, and in some cases cure, cancer.

Panel 2: The Startups

The region has a wealth of startups and university spinoffs attempting to commercialize emerging technology targeting cancer. Leaders from four of these companies will talk about their science, and their efforts to build and fund their businesses. Dr. Mark Exley, Chief Scientific Officer at Imvax, will speak  on this panel.
