Saint Joseph’s University Named a Military Times Best College for Veterans
PHILADELPHIA (November 21, 2017) – Saint Joseph’s University has been named one of Military Times Best Colleges for Veterans for 2018. Announced on Monday, Nov. 20, the distinction recognizes universities with a commitment to providing quality educational opportunities for veterans and military-connected students.
“Saint Joseph’s University is deeply honored to be named as a Military Times Best: College,” says HSB Dean Joseph DiAngelo Jr., Ed.D. ’70. “The ranking is a testament to the University’s overall commitment to veterans.”
Military Times is an independent news source for deployed and veteran service members and their families. Its annual survey assesses over 600 colleges and universities for their veteran and military student services and academic achievement.
“Of the hundreds of schools that applied, fewer than half received the Military Times Best: Colleges designation this year,” says George Altman, rankings editor at Military Times. “Only the best made the cut.”
Founded in 2014, Saint Joseph’s Office of Veterans Services, housed in the Haub School of Business, serves military veterans and their dependents by helping them gain access to government benefits, guiding them through the process of completing a degree, and introducing unique entrepreneurship programs for veterans looking to start their own businesses. The office’s cornerstone, SJU’s Entrepreneurship Program for Veterans, enables veterans to learn the different paths to business ownership and to acquire the skills needed to succeed as a business owner.
