IABCN Board members, Kevin Kent, Sean Flatley and Christine Hartmann, travelled to the Irish Consulate in New York City on May 5th to join the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland in celebrating the US launch of the Irish-US Economic Relationship 2017 Report. Mary Mitchell O’Connor, TD, Minister of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation gave an address on the reciprocal nature of the Irish-America relationship. Also present was Olympic Medalist Annalise Murphy who won the Silver in the 2016 Olympics in Rio for sailing.

Congratulations were bestowed on Galway man, Gavin Henningan, who finished third and set a new Irish record for rowing across the Atlantic in the Talisker Whiskey challenge in under 50 days. He rowed from the Canary Islands to Antigua.

Michael Larkin is photographed with the magnificent Pennsylvania Cup, which was presented to the Mayo Gaelic Football Team, on the occasion of their visit to Philadelphia in 1932. The copper cup was presented to Thomas Larkin, Telephone Pioneer of America, who was employed by the Bell telephone company.
The original framed certificate, conferring life membership of the Telephone Pioneers of America, was presented to T. Larkin, on the occasion of his retirement.

Councillors, Officials, and friends, proudly acknowledge the return of the Pennsylvania Cup to Mayo, where it will be displayed in the County Library, Castlebar.

* Pat Matthews is the founder of:  Autism Society of Ireland; Autism Society of Europe; and World Autism Society.  Through the Autism Society, he and his wife Nulla and daughter Tara provide education and support to families impacted by autism in Ireland.  They also established and operate a number of farm based programs throughout Ireland for adults with autism.
*At today’s meeting Lisa Marie was able to provide a demonstration of Avail programs and reports.
*Also was discussed was having Lisa Marie participate in the Autism Society of America Conference held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in July 2017 in order to establish relationships and prepare for a presentation at the World Autism Conference to be held in Houston, Texas in 2018.
