The Philadelphia Council of the Navy League is hosting its annual Commodore Barry Award Dinner on December 10th beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Merion Cricket Club, 325 Montgomery Avenue. Haverford, PA 19041.
It is of particular interest that the recipient of the Commodore Barry Award this year is Vice Admiral Michael Miller, who was the recent Superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy for four years through July, 2014. This provides an exciting continuity between the Barry Memorial Dedication Ceremony at the U.S. Naval Academy on May 10 and the Commodore Barry Award Dinner scheduled for December 10.

IABCN is forming a team to participate in the Irish Center’s Quizzo Night.
**Email abarry@iabcn.org to join the Irish Chamber’s team**
– There will be great prizes so far including many different types of gift cards and gift certificates, CDs, books, candle supplies and more.
– There will be several rounds of traditional quizzo, along with some “specialty” rounds. Surprises galore!
– John Shields will be deejaying in between rounds to keep you amused!
– Feel free to dress up, bring decorations for your table, etc. Special prizes for extras!
– The cost per person is $10. Teams of 6 maximum. This cost will be covered by the Irish Chamber (for our members).
– Prize raffles the night of the Quizzo, including the Gold Ticket items being drawn at the Irish Center Gathering on Sept. 28th.
