Business travelers don’t need to choose between work and play when they come to Philadelphia. A new study ranks Philadelphia as among the top U.S. cities for “bleisure” travel, or the combination of business and leisure.

That means people are coming to town for work or business purposes, but they’re spending their free time exploring the city, eating and drinking at its restaurants and bars, visiting cultural attractions and injecting more into the local economy.

Philadelphia is among the top U.S. cities that “make it easy for travelers to squeeze in a little bit of fun while still taking care of business,” according to a new study by TravelBank, a travel and expense system software maker for businesses.

Congratulations to our 2017 Taoiseach honoree and Ambassador Club Member, Eileen McDonnell, who will receive the The Ben Franklin Global Forum’s Distinguished Civilian Award for her pioneering work in helping launch The American College Penn Mutual Center for Veterans Affairs.  To date the Center has awarded over 450 scholarships to active duty military, veterans and their spouses.

Eileen will be honored on December 7th, the eve of the Army Navy Football Game in Philadelphia.  Each year, The Ben Franklin Global Forum recognizes one Soldier and one Sailor from the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) for their courageous and exemplary service to the defense of our nation.  This year’s keynote speaker with be General Raymond A. “Tony” Thomas, Commander, U.S. Special Operations Command.

Donegal business programme targets high-growth start ups in Philadelphia and Ireland

High growth start-up technology businesses in Ireland and in the greater Philadelphia area of the USA, are being urged to get involved in a new programme that could see them establish international links in Ireland for the Eurozone and the rest of the world.

The new Delta Accelerator Programme  – will be brought to Philadelphia this month under the banner of “The North West Innovation Fund” in partnership with the Donegal County Enterprise Fund and Local Enterprise Office, Donegal, who are driving the trans-Atlantic project.
