IRELAND has been successful in its bid to take a seat at the United Nations Security Council, the top table of international diplomacy.

A ‘mammoth campaign’ to win the prestigious role culminated this evening with a vote involving more than 190 countries at UN headquarters in New York.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said the result sees Ireland once again “taking our place among the nations of the world and sitting at the top table.”

Irish Whiskey Association, Drinks Ireland
16 June 2020 – Dublin, Ireland –
With liquor stores in Pennsylvania now nearly all reopened, we are encouraging consumers to explore the expanded range of Irish whiskey on sale in the state.

Over the past year, the number of different Irish whiskey products listed in PA liquor stores has increased from 55 to over 80.

In the two weeks before stores closed in March (also the two weeks leading up to St. Patrick’s Day) there were over 150,000 bottles of Irish whiskey sold, an increase of 76% compared to the same period last year.

We would encourage PA consumers to take that bit of extra time and browse the catalogue of Irish whiskey stocked in their local store… to explore the exciting depth and diversity that Irish whiskey category has to offer.

Try a new brand. Try a new expression from an established brand. There’s no shortage of new and exciting Irish whiskey available.

In Ireland we distil and blend more type of different whiskeys than other whiskey producing nations. We mature our whiskey in more type of barrels.

So when we talk of depth and diversity, we really mean it. We’re delighted that PA consumer have more choice and opportunity to enjoy this depth and diversity.
