The Irish American Business Chamber & Network is proud to partner with WorldUpstart, a Philadelphia-based accelerator that has doubled the odds of successful US market entry for its graduates.

This year WorldUpstart is running a hybrid program specifically for life sciences and MedTech companies from September 11 – November 9, 2023. The program provides:

1) 12 online sessions

2) Six mentoring sessions

3) Four in-person days in Philadelphia

4) Pitch to investors

5) Participation in the Philadelphia Alliance for Capital & Technology Conference, Philadelphia’s largest investor event

The program culminates with the in-person opportunity to pitch to a panel of Angel and VC investors and to visit major local medical centers. As a special bonus, graduates will also participate in Philadelphia’s largest venture conference on November 8-9, 2023.

Two Northern Ireland companies have already successfully completed the WorldUpstart accelerator: CINCHORTHO, a manufacturer and supplier of orthodontic appliances from Coleraine, and Take Ten from Belfast, a technology developer with a biofeedback app that helps children and neurodivergent minds learn more effectively.

This year to make market entry even easier, WorldUpstart is partnering with the magnificent new Quartermaster Science & Technology Park. This park is 10 minutes from Philadelphia International Airport and 15 minutes from the business district and major universities and medical centers.

The program cost for the accelerator is $3,000, but companies that take the space at the Quartermaster Shared Workspace will pay $2,000, receive 3 months rent-free, and a special rental price of $300 a month thereafter.
