We recently learned from Ambassador Anderson that the Irish Government had asked her to attend several functions related to and including the Academy Awards in Los Angeles, given the unprecedented showing for Irish films and actors in this year’s field of Oscar nominees. Because these events conflict with the Ambassador’s Awards luncheon, for the first time in the luncheon’s history, the Ambassador will not able to join us in person. Ambassador Anderson is truly sorry to miss our event, especially given the important work the Chamber does. The Consul General of Ireland, Barbara Jones, will attend in her stead. Consul General Jones brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and connections to our event, and we look forward to welcoming her to Philadelphia.
Despite the fact that we named our event after the Irish Ambassador, it remains fully an Irish Chamber award. The Ambassador’s absence does not change the fact that the Irish Chamber, with the support of our generous sponsors, will host 400+ American and international professionals to recognize, celebrate and honor the Almac Group, Monsignor Michael Doyle, and Bill & Natalie McLaughlin.
We look forward to seeing you on February 26th!
