WSFS Bank Associates and Their Children Volunteer Across the Region for Take Your Children to the Community Day

WILMINGTON, Del. – More than 100 WSFS Bank Associates, their children and family members volunteered on April 22 across the Greater Philadelphia and Delaware region as part of “Take Your Children to the Community Day,” WSFS’ spin on the national “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day.”

After the early stages of the pandemic forced the cancellation of the event in 2020, WSFS worked with local nonprofits to host the event for the seventh time. Safe and socially distanced events were held throughout the Bank’s footprint in Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey to teach the next generation the value of helping others and the impact they can make in the community.

Member News from Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon

“I had a great visit with the folks at Penn Terminals to discuss the new direct container shipping route between Cork, Ireland and the Port of Chester. The Philadelphia region’s ports are uniquely positioned geographically to serve as a gateway to the entire Northeast, and import more than a third of our fresh produce annually.

This is the first direct shipping route between Ireland and the United States in many years, and it provides both countries a fast and reliable route for food, beverages, pharmaceuticals, and more. Chester is Pennsylvania’s oldest city and, in part due to its place along the Delaware River, was integral in the early economic success of our Commonwealth. The city’s waterfront and business district are undergoing a renaissance, and the whole area has a lot of potential.”

‘Beachgoer’s paradise’: Lonely Planet names Ireland’s top 10 beaches
The Irish Times

Lonely Planet has picked its top 10 beaches in Ireland, describing the 6,200km coastline here as a “beachgoer’s paradise”.

The travel-guide publisher’s selection of beaches ranges from “quiet coves” to “great stretches of golden sand”, most of them along the western seaboard, with Co Donegal and Co Kerry particulary well represented.

Killiney Beach, just south of Dublin city, is the only beach on the east coast to make the list, with the surrounding bay being described as resembling the Bay of Naples, in Italy.

The guide recommends visiting the beaches on a sunny summer’s day, running your hands through the soft sand and imagining yourself 20 degrees closer to the equator. To view the full list, please click HERE.

The Three Types of International Partners You Need
By Rob Rae

Entering markets in new countries can be a daunting task for many businesses. However, market access and sustainable growth can be achieved if you have a strong network of local partners who provide valuable guidance and feedback. These partners span across several disciplines and areas of expertise and should complement similar resources back home. They can provide insights and direction specific to a new market expansion you are considering based on local knowledge and experience.

The partners who can truly add value to your expansion plans should fall into at least one – and hopefully all three – of the following types.
