Screen Shot 2014-12-11 at 10.44.46 AMThe Northeast PA Alliance recently announced the launch of the Northeast PA Defense Transition Partnership, a new initiative designed in collaboration with the PA Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED). The initiative is designed to provide support to Department of Defense (DoD) contractors and supply chain vendors to diversify their products and services in the wake of decreased DoD spending and sequestration. The partnership will provide direct support for the development of market diversification plans to create new opportunities and jobs for local businesses that have experienced decreased DoD contracts and the prospecting of new foreign direct investment to hire displaced workers. The initiative is being funded by a $2.9 million grant through the DoD Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA).

The Northeast Alliance and DCED Office of International Business Development will work together on this initiative to collaborate with local partners in creating new opportunities for job growth and retention for area businesses throughout Pennsylvania.
