Irish Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister & Minister for Jobs return to ICON for 2nd time in 3 years.
Excitement levels were high at ICON when the Irish Prime Minister (Taoiseach Enda Kenny), deputy Prime Minister (Tanaiste Joan Burton) and Minister for Jobs, Richard Bruton, chose ICON as the location to launch their 2015 Action Plan for Jobs. It was the second time in three years that the government selected ICON for this prestigious media event.
During the press conference, ICON Chief Executive, Ciaran Murray, announced the creation of a new global innovation hub which will be located in Ireland and will create 200 scientific, IT and business in Limerick and Dublin. Following the press conference, the Taoiseach and Tanaiste tried out some of ICON’s innovation. They took a virtual journey through the heart and lungs using an oculus rift and enjoyed the graphical content that was created by the Firecrest team. The Taoiseach, Tanaiste and Minister Bruton also took some time to meet and greet ICON employees as they walked through the atrium.
