Leaders of Philadelphia-area distillers are pushing for legislation that would create an organization dedicated to marketing and providing dollars to Pennsylvania’s fast-growing spirits makers.
Craft brewers already have a similar organization in place, but now local distillers want the same to assist in their expansion in the region and beyond state borders.
Pennsylvania became one of the more friendlier states in which to do business when in 2011 the state passed massive reforms that enabled spirits makers to offer samples, tours and on-site sales. That’s allowed spirits makers to connect with customers and welcome them into their facilities.
